Eternity TTRPG Sage

Following their return of Gray's horses, Edigo and Lanias took some time to relax in the stable master's small cottage. As they were eating stew and recovering from their ordeals, a piercing scream was heard from outside.

No assailant was to be found in the darkness and light snowfall, though the figure of a woman lay mangled and bleeding on the frozen dirt. Some fast acting from Lanias and his healing magic saved the woman, though she was still unconscious. Within the day however she had recovered enough to identify herself as Sharien Crescent - one of the adventurers who had left for Brightwood. In a fevered anxiety, she pleaded - despite her frail condition - for the two to help her save her friends.

Apparently they had reached the ruins of an old castle, and had been beset by a horrible monster. She had been able to flee, though the demon had caught up with her just outside Gray's home, only to disappear again shortly thereafter. Though she wasn't sure if any were still alive, both Edigo and Lanias agreed to help.

Sage Play Style

Sages are one of, if not the best, healing class. They also provide amazing buff spells to themselves and allies. Additionally, they round out their repertoire with powerful debuff spells that can debilitate and fluster enemies. They also feature a great deal of versatility as sages are able to dispel magic and maintained effects, and can cast spells with multiple simultaneous effects for allies and enemies.

For healing, you have "Blessed Light," which is the single most powerful healing spell in all of Eternity, within a single Action cast. However, "Light Aura (Regenerator)" also provides for small, over time heals, and "Piercing Insight" allows you to heal targets' Wisdom. "Invoke Heart" also provides an area of effect heal to round out your healing options.

"Nether Magic" allows you to boost your own Faith every turn, while you can keep yourself and allies safe with "White Aegis," which provides a Dodge increase. "Reflect" meanwhile allows you the chance to redirect Status Effects to anyone who targets you with one for a short duration.

You can also attack/ debuff enemies with "Crimson Curse." Whenever targets affected by this spell cause damage, they have a chance to take damage. This is an excellent combination with your high amounts of healing magic, as enemies will whittle themselves down even as you're healing up damage dealt to your allies. "Terrify" is also an attack/ debuff option that enables you to prevent enemies from attacking certain targets of your choice.

Lastly, you can use "White Whispers" as a low hit chance but powerful dispel effect, which can completely flip any battle to your favor.

Sage Lore

The trio finally caught up with Erina, only to have her captured before their very eyes by the “paladin” she had sought to help. Several heavily-armored figures crested the hill by the fallen paladin, seeking to kill the trio for witnessing the unexpected kidnapping.

Things looked grim when the ghost of Sharien showed up to help the beleaguered heroes defeat their foes. When the battle was won, the black knights were long gone with their prisoner and the heroes had no means of catching up to them in the blistering heat of the desert.

The party resigned a retreat back to Troea for the time being to discover another plan of action. Unfortunately, Lanias’ condition had worsened during their absence, and he teetered on the brink of death. For some reason, spell-casting and divine prayer had recently gone awry in the City of Five Pillars, and the High Clerics had no means of saving him.

It was rumored, however, that famous healers resided in the homeland of the golden elves to the north, and the party resolved to first find a way to heal their friend before saving his sister.
